Indications

Acular LS is an ophthalmic medication used to reduce inflammation, pain, and itching in your eyes caused by seasonal allergies, cataract surgery, or corneal refractory surgery.

Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, hormones that play important roles in your inflammatory response. When applied topically into your eyes, the drug provides analgesic and anti-pyretic as well as anti-inflammatory properties. These actions allow Acular LS to relieve pain, itching, and swelling in your eyes caused by various conditions.

Dosage and Administration

The administration regimen of Acular LS that is prescribed will vary depending on the individual and eye condition being treated. Follow all your healthcare provider’s instructions for use and read packaging labels carefully to ensure the best therapeutic response during treatment. Do not use these eye drops more often than prescribed.

  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after use
  • Most adults instill one drop into your affected eye four times a day

  • After corneal refractive surgery, most adults use Acular LS for up to 4 days
  • For cataract surgery, adults should start using Acular LS 1 day before surgery and continue for up to 2 weeks after
