Vemlidy Information

Vemlidy (Tenofovir Alafenamide Fumarate) is an antiviral medicine that is used to treat chronic (long-lasting) hepatitis B infection, a viral infection of the liver in adults. Hepatitis B is caused by an infection with the hepatitis B virus (HBV). Vemlidy works by blocking the virus from making more copies of itself in the body. This may help lower the amount of HBV in your body and reduce the infection.

Vemlidy Side Effects

The most common side effects of Vemlidy may include nausea; depressed mood; sleep problems; headache; abdominal pain; feeling tired; diarrhea; vomiting; rash; flatulence; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat (angioedema) and hives (urticaria). Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Kidney problems (little or no urination, painful or difficult urination, swelling in your feet or ankles, feeling tired or short of breath);
• Liver problems (swelling around your midsection, upper stomach pain, unusual tiredness, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice);
• Signs of a new infection (fever, night sweats, swollen glands, cold sores, cough, wheezing, diarrhea, weight loss);
