Mirapex (Generic name: Pramipexole Dihydrochloride) is a prescription medication approved to treat the following conditions: moderate-to-severe primary Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) and Parkinson’s disease (both early and advanced forms). RLS is a medical condition that is described as an urge to move the legs. Mirapex is used to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD), such as stiffness, tremors, muscle spasms, and poor muscle control. Pramipexole Dihydrochloride may be used alone or in combination with other Parkinson's medications such as Eldepryl, Sinemet, Levodopa. Off-label uses include treatment for cluster headache, depression, bipolar depression, or a variety of sleep disorders. Mirapex Side Effects:
The most common Mirapex side effects are acid stomach, amnesia, constipation, dry mouth, dizziness, hallucinations, headache, heartburn, impotence, indigestion, insomnia, low blood pressure (hypotension), muscle weakness, nausea and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as extreme confusion, drowsiness, fever, hallucinations, restless muscle movements, stiff muscles, sweating, uneven heartbeat, and serious allergic reaction (e.g., swelling of face, hands, mouth, legs or feet), please inform your doctor immediately.
Mirapex Precautions:
Do NOT take Mirapex oral if you are allergic to Pramipexole or to any of the ingredients in Mirapex medication. Before taking Mirapex, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions, especially: dyskinesia (a muscle movement disorder), low blood pressure (hypotension), narcolepsy (a sleep disorder), liver or kidney disease.
