Savella (Milnacipran HCl, Milnacipran Hydrochloride) is prescription medication used for the treatment of fibromyalgia (chronic pain disorder) in adults. Savella is not used to treat depression, but it acts like other medications used to treat depression (antidepressant) and other psychiatric disorder. Milnacipran belongs to a class of drugs called serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), which work by affecting certain chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters which are related to cause chronic pain.
