Prezista (Darunavir) is an antiviral medication that is used to treat HIV infection. Darunavir belongs to a class of drugs called protease inhibitor (PI). This medication works by blocking the growth of HIV. Darunavir must always be taken along with another medication called ritonavir.

We currently have the brand from Turkey and the brand from Canada manufactured by Janssen-Ortho. The generic comes from India. This medication is available in the strengths of 75mg, 300mg, 400mg, and 600mg.
Common side effects include:
• Changes in the shape or location of body fat;
• Headache;
• Skin rash;
• Stomach pain, vomiting
Severe side effects include:
• Back pain;
• Chest pain;
• Swelling in your neck or throat, sores on your genital or anal area;
• Trouble speaking or swallowing
You should not take Prezista if you are allergic to Darunavir or ritonavir or if you have severe liver disease. Before you start taking Prezista, inform your doctor about all the prescription, OTC and herbal medications you are currently taking. There may be an interaction between Prezista and other medications such as colchicine, salmeterol, warfarin, coumadin, sildenafil, tadalafil, vardenafil, viagra, atorvastatin, pravastatin, rosuvastatin, etc.
