Zyrtec Information

Zyrtec Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com offers Zyrtec and other allergy medications at competitive prices. We currently offer the brand Zyrtec from Canada also called Reactine manufactured by Johnson & Johnson and from India manufactured by UCB Pharma. The generic Certirizine is available from Canada by a different manufacturer.

Dosage

Zyrtec comes in the strength of 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg tablets. The generic Cetirizine is available in the strength of 10 mg and 20 mg tablets. Zyrtec and Cetirizine 20 mg requires a valid prescription from your doctor and the 5 mg and 10 mg tablets are available OTC.

Usage

Zyrtec (Cetirizine) is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergy such as hives, itching, runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes. This medication may also be used to treat itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria. Cetirizine belongs to the class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking the action of histamine that causes allergic reactions.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Zyrtec may include constipation, decreased sense of taste, dizziness or light-headed feeling, drowsiness or tiredness, dry mouth or sore throat, feeling hot or sweating, headache, nausea, numbness, tingling, burning pain, and upset stomach. Stop taking Zyrtec and call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Confusion;
• Fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat;
• Little or no urination;
• Severe restless feeling or hyperactivity;
• Weakness, tremors, or sleep problems

If you still have questions about side effects we always suggest further conversations with your doctor.

Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Zyrtec if you are allergic to Cetirizine or Levocetirizine. Before you start using Zyrtec, talk to your doctor about your medical history. You should also tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Cetirizine and other medications such as cold and allergy medications, narcotic pain medications, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, medications for seizures, depression or anxiety. Zyrtec may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert. Drinking alcohol can increase certain side effects of Cetirizine. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
