Product Details

Teveten (Eprosartan Mesylate) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It may also be used to treat congestive heart failure and to help protect the kidneys from damage due to diabetes. Eprosartan Mesylate is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). This medication helps to lower blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems. Teveten may be used alone or combined with a “water pill” or diuretic to reach target blood pressure. The full effects of this medication are usually seen within three weeks.

Teveten Side Effects and Precautions

The common Teveten side effects may include blurred vision, dizziness and lightheadedness. The serious side effects may include:
• Decreased sexual ability;
• Fainting;
• Muscle weakness;
• Slow or irregular heartbeat;
• Symptoms of high potassium

You should not take Teveten if you are allergic to Eprosartan Mesylate or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you are currently taking including OTC and herbal medications. The medication may make you dizzy. You should not drive or do any activity that requires you to be alert unless you are sure you can perform these activities safely. Limit alcoholic beverages. There may be an interaction between Eprosartan and other medications such as aliskiren, alpha blockers, alpha agonists, brimonidine, celecoxib, cyclosporine, duloxetine, diazoxide, levodopa, lithium, quetiapine, risperidone, etc.
