Dosage and Administration

    • Hereditary metabolic disorder that affects your red blood cells

    • Infection in or around your mouth
    • Sores in or around your mouth
  • It is not expected for Anbesol to interact with other drugs, but you should tell your healthcare provider about all the medications you use, including over the counter medicines, but especially any of the following:
    • Hyaluronidase
    • St John’s wort
    • Medicines that contain nitrates or nitrites such as nitroglycerin
  • Contact your healthcare provider if your pain does not improve within 7 days of treatment with Anbesol maximum strength liquid.
  • Contact your healthcare provider if you develop a severe sore throat or one that occurs accompanied by a high fever, headache, nausea, or vomiting. These symptoms may indicate an infection.
  • Avoid contact with your eyes while administering Anbesol maximum strength liquid. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  • Avoid swallowing the medication while applying to pain points in your mouth and wait for up to an hour after administration to eat or drink to avoid ingesting too much of the medication.
  • Anbesol maximum strength liquid should not be used in children under the age of 2.
