Procoralan (Ivabradine) is used to treat the symptoms of long-term stable angina (pain to the chest, jaw, and back brought on by physical effort). Procoralan is also used to treat heart failure. It is used to help prevent heart failure from worsening and to avoid being hospitalized. Procoralan is also used by children who have heart failure due to an enlarged heart. Heart failure is a condition where your heart lacks the ability to pump blood as well as it normally should. Ivabradine belongs to a class of medications called hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channel blockers. This medication works by slowing the heart rate so the heart can pump more blood through the body with each beat.
