Usage

Starlix (Nateglinide) is a prescription medicine used as a combination therapy with metformin to control high blood sugar in type-2 diabetic patients. The active ingredient in Starlix is Nateglinide. Nateglinide belongs to the class of medication called Antidiabetics, Meglitinides Derivatives. It works by increasing insulin production and makes your body respond better to the insulin produced by the pancreas. It also reduces postprandial hyperglycemia. Controlling elevated blood sugar helps to prevent renal damage, sudden blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Starlix are sudden drop in blood sugar, unintended weight gain, dizziness, nausea and vomiting.

Stop using Starlix and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Severe dizziness;
• Recurrent fall or syncopal attack;
• Worsening of your blood sugar or persistent rise in blood sugar
