Usage

Telmisartan belongs to the class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). This medication works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill (diuretic) that increases the amount of urine that is made especially when you first start taking the medication. You may be able to help prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems by lowering your blood pressure. The Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide are used together when one medication is not able to control your blood pressure. Micardis HCT is taken with or without food. Your blood pressure should be checked regularly.
