Trileptal suspension (Oxcarbazepine) is a prescription medication used to treat epilepsy. Epilepsy is a brain disorder that causes people to have recurring seizures and convulsions. These seizures happen because of a temporary fault in the brain’s electrical activity. The active ingredient in Trileptal suspension is Oxcarbazepine. Oxcarbazepine belongs to a class of drugs called anticonvulsants or antiepileptics. It works by decreasing abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Trileptal may be used alone or in combination with other antiepileptic medicines.
