Edurant Information:

Edurant (Generic name: Rilpivirine tablet) is used for the treatment of HIV in patients who have never taken anti-HIV drugs. Rilpivirine is an antiretroviral medicine and works by slowing the progress of HIV infection. Take Edurant exactly as it was prescribed for you. Edurant will be taken in combination with other HIV drugs. Edurant does not cure HIV/AIDS. Brand Edurant is manufactured by Jasnsen-Ortho in Canada. It comes in a single strength: 25 mg.

Edurant Side Effects:

The most common Edurant side effects are abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, insomnia, loss of appetite, nausea, rash, tiredness, weakness, and vomiting. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as depression, mood changes, symptoms of infection, worsen liver problems, and serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing, hives, rash, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue), please inform your doctor immediately.

Edurant Precautions:

Do not take Edurant if you are allergic to Rilpivirine or if your infection has been previously treated with HIV medicines. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as metal problems, liver problems including hepatitis B virus (HBV) or hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Edurant drug. Especially: anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, acid reflux medications, steroids, St.John’s wort, and other HIV medications. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
