Mobic (Meloxicam) Medication Information

Uses

Mobic is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) medication used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. 

Dosage

The tablets are available in several strengths:

  • 7.5 mg
  • 15 mg

Side Effects

The most common side effects of Mobic include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Dyspepsia
  • Influenza like syndrome

Precautions

Mobic can cause a potentially serious cardiovascular event, and this is more common in patients with cardiovascular disease. Elevated blood pressure is also a possible side effect that can occur with Mobic.

Kidney injury can also occur when using Meloxicam, using it in patients who have existing kidney problems is not recommended. 

Interactions

The most common drug interactions with Mobic include:

  • Aspirin
  • Lithium
  • ACE inhibitors
  • Blood thinners
