Inlyta (Axitinib) belongs to the class of medications called cancer-fighting medications known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors. This medication is used for the treatment of advanced kidney cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. Inlyta is used if all other treatments have not been effective. Axitinib works by slowing or stopping the growth of blood vessels that feed nutrients to cancer cells. Axitinib can help reduce the size of tumours.

There may be a drug interaction between Inlyta and other medications such as azole antifungals, HIV protease inhibitors, rifamycins, drugs to treat seizures, etc.
