Renedil Information
Renedil (Felodipine) is used to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure is essential to prevent health complications like heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems. High blood pressure is a common condition that occurs when the force of the blood pushing against the artery walls is too high, making the heart work harder to pump blood. Calcium channel blockers like Felodipine relax the blood vessels so the heart does not have to pump hard, lowering blood pressure.
Renedil Side Effects
The most common side effects of Renedil may include dizziness, lightheadedness, flushing, and headache. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the severe side effects, such as:
• Excessive tiredness;
• Fast heartbeat;
• Heartburn;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, or itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat
Renedil Precautions
Do not use Renedil if you are allergic to Felodipine or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have congestive heart failure, hypotension, intolerance to certain sugars, or liver problems. Inform your doctor if you
think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Renedil and other medications, like aliskiren, amiodarone, ramipril, apomorphine, carbamazepine, digoxin, and levodopa. Do not use Renedil if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. Taking Felodipine in pregnancy can harm your unborn baby. Do not use Renedil while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. It is unknown if Felodipine passes into your breastmilk or if it may harm nursing infants. It is unknown if this drug is safe for use in children below 18 years of age. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with or without food. Do not crush, chew, or break it. Avoid taking Renedil with foods high in carbohydrates or fats. Avoid grapefruit juice while taking this drug. Felodipine can cause swollen and tender gums. Floss, brush, and observe good oral hygiene while taking this drug. Store this medication at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
