Frova (Generic name: Frovatriptan Scuccinate) is a prescription medication to treat migraine attacks in adults, with or without aura (warning signs that occur prior to the onset of a migraine). Frovatriptan Scuccinate is in the class of drugs called selective serotonin receptor agonists. It affects a certain natural chemical (serotonin) that constricts blood vessels in the brain. Frova helps to relieve headaches, pain and other symptoms of migraines, including sensitivity to light/sound, nausea, and vomiting. Frova is NOT recommended for other types of headaches (eg., cluster headaches, tension headaches). Take Frova tablets exactly as it was prescribed for you.
The most common Frova side effects are cold or hot sensation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, flushing, headache, indigestion, nausea, stomach upset, tiredness, and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, confusion, fainting, irregular heartbeat, mental/mood changes, trouble urination, vision problems, or signs of an allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Do NOT take Frova oral if you are allergic to Frovatriptan or any of the ingredients in Frova medication. Before taking Frova, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as circulation (blood flow) disorders, chest pain (angina), diabetes, female after menopause, heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol level, intestinal problems, and smoking history.
