Lotrisone (Clotrimazole/Betamethasone Dipropionate) is used to treat fungal infections, such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It contains a combination of bethamethasone (steroid) and clotrimazole (antifungal). Together, it reduces itching, swelling, and redness, as well as fighting the infection caused by a fungus. The usual recommended start dose is 1%/0.05%/50gm.

Get medical help immediately if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking Lotrisone.

• Difficulty breathing;
• Hives;
• Swelling of your face, lips, tongue or throat

Stop taking Lotrisone and call your doctor at once if you have one of these serious side effects:

• Depression;
• Irritability;
• Muscle weakness;
• Nausea;
• Severe dizziness;
• Tiredness
• Vomiting;
• Weight loss

Less serious side effects of Lotrisone may include: burning or tingling of treated skin, rash, or swelling.

Lotrisone should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor about your medical history to be sure you can safely take Lotrisone. Particularly if you have a history of: any type of skin infection. You should not take Lotrisone if you are allergic to Clotrimazole or Betamethasone. Do not use this medication on anyone younger than 17 years old. It is unknown how this medication may affect an unborn or nursing infant. It can make its way into breastmilk. It should not be used to treat diaper rash. Talk to your doctor about the risks if you are pregnant or nursing before taking Lotrisone. There may be an interaction between Lotrisone and other medications. Talk to your doctor about any medications or herbal supplements you are currently taking.
