Usage

Nucala (Mepolizumab) is a prescription medication used to treat adults and children (age six and older) with severe eosinophilic asthma. Nucala powder for injection is also used with other medicines to treat nasal polyps and chronic rhinosinusitis. The active substance in Nucala is Mepolizumab. Mepolizumab belongs to the class of medication called Interleukin Inhibitors; Monoclonal Antibodies (Anti-asthmatics). It reduces the level of eosinophils by preventing the binding of IL-5 to eosinophils. This reduces blood, tissue, and sputum eosinophil levels.
