Duotrav (Travoprost-Timolol) Medication Information

Uses

Duotrav is a combination eye drop used to treat elevated eye pressure. 

Dosage

The eye drop is available in 0.004%-0.5% strength. 

Side Effects

The most common side effects of Duotrav include:

  • Increased eyelash length
  • Iris discoloration
  • Eye pruritus 
  • Eye irritation

Precautions

Duotrav can cause CNS depression, which can alter mental alertness. 

There is a risk of choroidal detachment with Duotrav use. 

Interactions

Common drug interactions with Duotrav include:

  • Amiodarone
  • Beta blocker
  • Bupivacaine
  • Epinephrine
  • Fingolimod
  • NSAIDs
  • Rivastigmine

Storage

Do not store above room temperature (77 ºF).

  • Do not touch the tip of the Duotrav bottle to the eye.
  • Keep your eye closed for 2 minutes after instilling Duotrav drops. 
  • If drops are added in addition to Duotrav, they need to be at least 5 minutes apart.
