Azulfidine Dosage

Azulfidine tablets should be taken after a meal. The tablet should not be broken up but swallowed whole. It can be used alongside any other medication that is being taken for arthritis.

Initially an adult should be prescribed either 3000 mg or 4000 mg each day and be taken through the day not leaving more than 8 hours between them. If there are stomach problems, then the dose can be reduced to 1000 mg to 2000 mg.
