Dymista (Azelastine/Fluticasone) Nasal Spray is used for the treatment of nasal symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, and runny nose caused by seasonal allergies. Dymista is a combination of azelastine and fluticasone. Azelastine is an antihistamine and fluticasone is a corticosteroid. Azelastine works by blocking certain natural substances called histamines that are responsible for allergic symptoms. Fluticasone works by reducing swelling and inflammation in the nasal passages.

The brand Dymista is manufactured by Meda Pharms in the United States, it is available in the 137 mcg/50 mcg dosage. The generic Azelastine Fluticasone is also called Ezicas AZ made by Intas in India is available in 140 mcg/50mcg/70 dosage.
Less serious side effects include:
• Altered sense of taste;
• Drowsiness;
• Headache;
• Nasal dryness or irritation
Serious side effects include:
• Pain in the eye, blurred vision;
• Severe nosebleeds;
• Sores or white patches in your mouth or throat;
• Sore throat, fever, chills;
• Whistling sound when you breathe
Dymista is used in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. You should not use Dymista if you are allergic to azelastine or fluticasone or if you are taking ritonavir. Before you start taking this medication, inform your doctor about your medical condition and all the prescription, OTC and herbal medications you are currently taking. It is unknown whether this medication will harm and unborn baby of it if could harm a nursing baby. Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or breast- feeding.
