Panectyl Information

Panectyl Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Panectyl from Canada, manufactured by Erfa. The generic version is not available. Our customers may also purchase other Allergy medications such as Reactine from Canada.

Dosage

The brand Panectyl is available in the strength of 2.5 mg and 5 mg tablets.

Usage

Panectyl (Trimeprazine) is a prescription medicine used to reduce itching (pruritus) from allergies, hives, eczema, and other causes such as insect bites, chickenpox, and reactions to certain drugs. The active ingredient in the Panectyl tablet is Trimeprazine. Trimeprazine belongs to the group of medicine called an antihistamine. It works by blocking certain natural substances (histamine, acetylcholine) that your body makes. It may also act directly on certain brain parts to reduce itching. This medication should not be used in children younger than 2 years due to an increased risk of side effects.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Panectyl are stomach upset, joint pain, headache, mood changes, nightmares, dry mouth, and nose blockage or congestion

Stop using Panectyl and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Easy bruising or bleeding;
• Fast and irregular heartbeat;
• Face or muscle twitching;
• Mental or mood changes (e.g., hallucinations, depression, nervousness);
• Seizure;
• Shaking (tremors);

You should take this medication by mouth and use it as directed by your doctor. Do not increase your dose or take this medication more often without your doctor's approval. You may increase the chance of side effects if you use more than your prescribed dose. In addition, children are more sensitive to the effects of antihistamines. Therefore, in children, you should not use this medication to avoid serious side effects such as convulsion (seizures), nightmares or unusual excitement, nervousness, restlessness, or irritability. If you experience drowsiness, dizziness, hypotension, or a headache as side effects when using Panectyl Tablet, driving a vehicle or operating heavy machinery may not be safe. It would be best if you continued to use this medication for as long as your doctor prescribes it. Reach your doctor if there is no significant improvement in your symptoms after regular use.

Before you start using Panectyl, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Airway blockage or respiratory problems (e.g., asthma, emphysema);

Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, plan on getting pregnant, or breastfeeding a child. You will need to talk about the benefits and risks to you and the baby. This medication passes into breast milk. It would be best to consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
