LutrePulse is a medication that contains gonadorelin acetate and is used for various purposes related to reproductive health.

LutrePulse (gonadorelin acetate) is indicated for the induction of ovulation in women with primary hypothalamic amenorrhea.

Use and Dosage

Gonadorelin is injected into a vein or under the skin using an infusion pump, as directed by your doctor. If you are using this medication at home, learn all preparation and usage instructions from your health care professional and the medication package. Before using this medication, check the solution visually for particles or discoloration. If either is present, do not use the solution.

Before each dose, clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol. If you are injecting the medication under the skin, change the injection site as directed by your doctor to lessen injury under the skin. If you are injecting the medication into a vein, you do not need to change the injection site unless directed by your doctor.

The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Keep all medical appointments so your doctor can closely monitor your response and adjust your dosage if necessary. Do not change the dose unless directed by your doctor, and do not use this medication for a longer period than prescribed.

Side Effects

  • Nausea
  • Although most of the side effects listed below do not happen very often, they could lead to serious problems if you do not seek medical attention.

  • Fever or chills
  • Increased menstrual bleeding
  • Swelling, pain, itching, redness, or hardening of the skin at the place of injection
  • Signs of depression (e.g., poor concentration, changes in weight, changes in sleep, decreased interest in activities, thoughts of suicide)

Stop using the medication and seek immediate medical attention if any of the following occur:

  • Signs of a severe allergic reaction such as difficulty breathing, flushing, fast heart rate, or itchy skin rash
  • Symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS):
  • Abdominal or pelvic discomfort or pain
  • Decreased urination
  • Diarrhea
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Nausea
  • Rapid weight gain
  • Vomiting

Some people may experience side effects other than those listed. Check with your doctor if you notice any symptoms that worry you while you are taking this medication.

Cautions
