Indications

Vimovo is a pain reliever used to relieve symptoms of arthritis in adults and juvenile idiopathic arthritis in adolescents.

This medication combines naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), with esomeprazole magnesium, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) to reduce pain with less risk of developing stomach ulcers. Naproxen inhibits substances in your body that lead to inflammation, pain, and fever, while esomeprazole decreases your production of stomach acid to reduce your risk of stomach ulcers that could develop from using naproxen.

Thanks to the actions of both drugs used in Vimovo, this medication can provide effective pain relief for a variety of arthritis conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.

Dosage and Administration

The dose of Vimovo that is prescribed will vary depending on the individual and severity of arthritis being treated. Follow all your healthcare provider’s instructions and read packaging labels carefully to ensure the best results during treatment. Do not change your dose on your own.
