Indications

Sensipar is a thyroid medication used to treat hyperparathyroidism (overactive parathyroid gland) in those on dialysis for kidney disease.

Cinacalcet HCL is a calcimimetic that affects the calcium sensing receptor which contributes to regulating parathyroid hormone secretion. Thanks to its ability to reduce calcium, phosphorus, and their products, Sensipar improves hyperparathyroidism in those with kidney disease.

This thyroid regulating medication has proven to be effective at reducing and maintaining parathyroid gland production. Sensipar also has good tolerability with minimal adverse effects, making it a good option for those with kidney disease who are on dialysis.
