It works by stimulating the production of other hormones, and this causes the production to temporarily stop. It reduces the production of testosterone in men and estrogen in women. This medication only treats the symptoms of prostate cancer and endometriosis. It does not cure prostate cancer.

• Swelling, rapid weight gain;
• Urinating more often than usual;

Rare but serious side effects may include:
• Loss of bowel or bladder control;
• Muscle weakness or loss of use;
• Numbness, weakness, or tingly feeling in your legs or feet;
