Temovate Cream (Clobetasol) Medication Information

Uses

Temovate is a corticosteroid cream used to treat inflammation and skin itching of the skin, and plaque-type psoriasis.

Dosage

The cream is available in 0.05% strength.

Side Effects

The most common side effects of Temovate include:

  • Pruritus
  • Irritation
  • Cracking of skin
  • Numbness of fingers tenderness
  • Skin atrophy

Precautions

Temovate is a highly potent corticosteroid that at high doses can suppress the HPA axis. 

There is a risk of local adverse effects with Clobetasol use, and it is more frequent with higher potency topical steroids and using coverings over application site.

There is a risk of patients developing high blood sugar levels with the use of any corticosteroid. 

Interactions

The manufacturers did not list any drug interactions with Temovate.
