Zestril Information:
Zestril (Generic name: Lisinopril Dihydrate) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and congestive heart failture. Lisinopril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. It works by relaxing blood vessels and helping the heart to pump blood that carries oxygen to the different parts of the body more efficiently. Lisinopril is used alone with other medicines to improve survival after a heart attack. Take Zestril exactly as it was prescribed for you.
Zestril Side Effects:
The most common Zestril side effects are constipation, cough, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, insomnia, loss of taste, nausea, tiredness, upset stomach, vomiting, and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, confusion, fainting, fever, irregular heartbeat, muscle weakness, numbness, vision changes, or symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Zestril Precautions:
Do NOT take Zestril oral if you are allergic to Lisinopril or any of the ingredients in Zestril medication. Before taking Zestril, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as a connective tissue disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, and etc. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. Because they may contain ingredients that could increase your blood pressure or heart rate, especially of: lithium, NSAIDs, oral diabetes/insulin, salt substitutes containing potassium, water pills (diuretics), and other blood pressure-lowering medications.
