Indications

Treximet is an antimigraine medication used to treat migraine headaches that have already begun.

This medication combines sumatriptan, an antimigraine drug, with naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), to treat an active migraine. Sumatriptan inhibits the release of neuropeptides and constricts blood vessels in your brain to counteract migraine effects. Naproxen offers analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting prostaglandins that mediate inflammation and affect your nerves.

The combination of drugs used in this medication allows Treximet to relieve migraine headaches that have already begun thanks to their anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and anti-migraine actions.

The dose of Treximet that is prescribed will vary depending on the individual and the severity of their migraines being treated.
