Ilube Eye Drops Information

Ilube Eye Drops Details (Brand and Generic)

CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers the brand Ilube Eye Drops from United Kingdom. The generic version is not available.

Dosage

The brand Ilube Eye Drops are available in the strength of 5%/10 ml.

Usage

Ilube (Acetylcysteine) is a solution that acts as an artificial tear. It is used to provide relief for dry eyes conditions which are associated with a lack of tears or abnormal tear production. Ilube works by reducing the stickiness of tears and lubricating dry eyes to relieve discomfort. In the brand Ilube, acetylcysteine is combined with an ingredient called hypromellose which soothes and lubricates the surface of your eye. These two ingredients together act as artificial tears. The drops ease eye dryness and soreness which is associated with some dry eye conditions, and make your eyes feel more comfortable. This product should not be used on children. Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. The recommended dose is 1 or 2 drops into the affected eye 3 or 4 times daily or as advised by your doctor. Wash your hands before you start. Do not touch your eye or eyelid, surrounding areas or other surfaces with the dropper. It could contaminate the drops. If you use more Ilube than you should, close your eyes and rinse off any excess Ilube with warm water.

Side Effects and Precautions

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The common side effects of Ilube Eye Drops are itching, redness, irritation.

Stop using Ilube Eye Drops and contact your doctor right away if any of the side effects get serious, or you notice any side effects not listed above.

Warnings and Interactions

To make sure this is the right treatment for you, before you start using the eye drops it is important that your doctor knows if you:
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby;
• Have ever had an allergic reaction to a preservative in eye drops;
• Wear soft contact lenses.

Do not use Ilube if you are allergic to acetylcysteine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Ilube. Ilube contains the preservative benzalkonium chloride, which can discolor soft contact lenses. You should remove contact lenses before using this medicine and put them back 15 minutes afterwards. Benzalkonium chloride may also cause eye irritation, especially if you have dry eyes or disorders of the cornea (the clear layer at the front of the eye). If you feel abnormal eye sensation, stinging or pain in the eye after using this medicine, talk to your doctor. Stop using Ilube if discomfort, increased reddening or irritation occurs and persists. This product should not be used on children. Your vision may be blurred after using Ilube. Do not drive or use any machines unless your vision is clear.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Do not store above 25°C. Keep the bottle in the outer carton in order to protect from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed.
