Besivance (Besifloxacin) is an eye drop medication used to treat bacterial eye infections. Besifloxacin belongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria inside the eye. Besivance is used to treat bacterial eye infections only; it will not work for other types of eye infections.

The common side effects of Besivance may include temporary eye redness.

Call your doctor right away if you have:
• Any signs of a new infection, fever;
• Drainage or crusting of your eye;
• Feeling like there is something in your eye;
• Severe eye irritation after using the eye drops

Do not use Besivance if you are allergic to Besifloxacin. Prior to taking this medication, tell your doctors about your medical history and if you have ever had:

Besivance may cause blurred vision, or make you dizzy or may impair your reactions. Avoid driving or hazardous activity until you know how this medication will affect you. Use this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor and keep using it for the full prescribed length of time. Do not use these eye drops while you are wearing contact lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes after using Besivance before putting your contact lenses in. Do not wear contact lenses while you still have active symptoms of the eye infection you are treating. Tell your doctor about all the medications you use including prescription, nonprescription, herbal products, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Besivance and other medications. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
