Alomide is used to treat inflammation of the eye caused by certain conditions. Alomide is a mast cell stabilizer. Exactly how it works is unknown, but it prevents the release of chemicals in the eye that cause inflammation. Store Alomide at room temperature away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store Alomide in the bathroom. Keep out of reach of children. Take Alomide exactly as directed by your doctor. Read the prescription label to check for exact dosing instructions. Alomide is used in the eyes only. Do not use Alomide in the nose or mouth. Wash your hands before using Alomide. Tilt your head back and pull your bottom eyelid away from your eye. Put the medicine into your eye and gently close your eyes. Apply light pressure to the inside corner of your eye for several minutes. Wipe away extra medicine with a tissue. Do not allow the applicator tip to touch any surface, including your eye. Close the container tightly. If you forget a dose of Alomide, take it as soon as you remember. It if is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing routine. Do not take 2 doses at once.Do not take Alomide if you are allergic to any ingredient in Alomide.
