Lodine (Etodolac) is a prescription medication used to treat mild to moderate pain resulting from osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Arthritis is the inflammation of one or more of the joints, resulting in pain and stiffness. This condition is quite common in older people as it can worsen with age. The active ingredient in Lodine is Etodolac. Etodolac belongs to a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing the hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
