Clinoril (Sulindac) is a prescription medication used to treat symptoms of arthritis, including pain, swelling, and joint stiffness. The drug treats spinal arthritis, gouty arthritis, shoulder bursitis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and osteoarthritis. Arthritis is the swelling or inflammation of one or more joints. The disease is autoimmune and can be inherited genetically. Age, sex, and obesity are risk factors for arthritis. The active ingredient in Clinoril is Sulindac. Sulindac belongs to a class of medications called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing the body’s production of prostaglandins to decrease swelling, pain, or fever.
