Product Details

Rasilez (Aliskiren) is a prescription medication that is used for the treatment of mild to moderate high blood pressure. Aliskiren belongs to a group of medications known as direct renin inhibitors. It reduces blood pressure by blocking the actions of renin that causes the blood vessels to tighten. The recommended dose of Rasilez is 150 mg once a day.

The common or less serious side effects may include:
• Constipation;
• Decreased interest in sexual activity;
• Dizziness;
• Feeling lightheaded;
• Headache;
• Nausea;
• Reduced appetite;
• Stomach pain;
• Swelling of the feet or lower legs;
• Vomiting

The serious side effects may include:
• Severe diarrhea;
• Symptoms of an allergic reaction;
• Symptoms of severe skin reaction;
• Symptoms of kidney failure

You should not take Rasilez if you are allergic to Aliskiren or if you have any other allergies. Before you start taking this medication, talk to your doctor about your medical history and about all the medications you take including OTC and herbal medications. This medication should not be used during pregnancy as it may affect a developing baby. Hydrochlorothiazide passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before you breast-feed a baby. Rasilez should not be used in children under 18 years old. There may be a drug interaction between Aliskiren Hydrochlorothiazide and other medications such as alcohol, allopurinol, amiodarone, enalapril, irbesartan, atorvastatin, azelastine, brimonidine, carbamazepine, carvedilol, cyclosporine, digoxin, etc.
