Zofran (Ondansetron) is a prescription antiemetic medication that is used to prevent nausea and vomiting that may be caused by surgery, cancer chemotherapy or radiation treatment. Ondansetron belongs the class of medications called serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. This medication works by blocking the action of serotonin that may cause nausea and vomiting. This medication may be taken with or without food as directed by your doctor.

The common side effects of Zofran may include constipation, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, lightheadedness and tiredness.

It is unknown whether this medication passes into breast milk. Talk to your doctor before breast-feeding.
