Estrogel (Estradiol) is used by women to help reduce the symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, burning and itching. These symptoms are caused by the body making less estrogen. Estradiol gel belongs to the class of medications known as estrogen replacement therapy. The Estrogel is absorbed through the skin and enters into the bloodstream which helps reduce menopause symptoms. You may see relief of menopausal symptoms as early as 2 weeks after starting treatment.
