h Travatan (Generic name: Travoprost) is an ophthalmic solution used to treat high pressure inside the eye due to glaucoma (open angle type) or other eye disease (e.g., ocular hypertension). Lowering high pressure inside the eye can help prevent blindness. Travatan solution works by regulating the flow of fluid within the eye to maintain a normal pressure. Travatan Z solution is a new formulation that eliminated benzalkonium chloride (BAK) and replaces BAK with sofziatim, a robust ironic buffered preservative system that is gentle to the ocular surface. Chronic use of Travatan Z is less likely to compromise the ocular surface, potentially reducing eye irritation in glaucoma patients also suffering from ocular surface disease (dry eye). The most common Travatan side effects such as blurred vision, dizziness, dry or watery eyes, eye discomfort, headache, red eyes, and sinus irritation.
