They are used to prevent or treat several conditions that may cause hypocalcemia (low calcium level in the blood). The active ingredient in Calcia is Calcium. Calcium belongs to the class of drugs called Vitamin supplements. Calcium plays a vital role in the body. It works by supplying the body with calcium which tends to decline as we age because it is released through sweat, skin cells, and waste. Having the right amount of calcium is essential for building and keeping strong bones.
