Azor (Amlodipine/Olmesartan) Product Information

Azor is a prescription medication for high blood pressure also known as hypertension. This medicine is made up of  two ingredients: amlodipine and olmesartan.

It works because amlodipine relaxes the heart muscles and blood vessel mussels, while Olmesartan prevents blood vessels from getting narrower. This ensures that blood flow is not limited and when the pressure is kept low, there is less chance of you having a heart attack or stroke.

Azor FAQs

Can I take this with food?

You can take this with or without food.

Can I take this if I am pregnant?

When pregnancy is detected, discontinue Azor as soon as possible. Drugs that act directly on the renin-angiotensin system can cause injury and death to the developing fetus.

Can I take this if I am breastfeeding?

It is not known whether the amlodipine or olmesartan medoxomil components of Azor are excreted in human milk, but olmesartan is secreted at low concentration in the milk of lactating rats. Because of the potential for adverse effects on the nursing infant, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue the drug, taking into account the importance of the drug to the mother.

What is Azor used for?

Azor is a prescription drug used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension). Medicines that lower blood pressure lower the chance of having a stroke or heart attack.

How often can Azor be titrated?
