Zaditen (Ketotifen) is an antihistamine medication. It reduces activity in the central nervous system and reduces the production of histamine in the body. Zaditen is used to minimize the frequency and severity of asthma attacks. It is a preventative asthma medication and typically used in conjunction with acute asthma inhalers. This medication will not stop an active acute asthma attack. The usual recommended start dose is 1mg tablets.

The brand Zaditen is manufactured by Novartis and currently comes from Turkey. It may come from other international countries. Zaditen is available in a 1mg tablet and 2mg extended-release tablet dosage.

Stop taking Zaditen and call your doctor at once if you have one of these serious side effects:

• Irritability;

• Unusual bleeding or bruising;
• Unusual excitability or nervousness;
• Unusual weight gain;

Less serious side effects of Ketotifen may include: dizziness, drowsiness, trouble sleeping, or flu-like symptoms.
