Isordil (Isosorbide Dinitrate) is a prescription medication used to prevent chest pain (angina) in people with coronary artery disease. Isordil may also be used with other medicines to treat heart failure. The active substance in Isordil is Isosorbide Dinitrate. Isosorbide Dinitrate belongs to a class of drugs known as nitrates. It works by relaxing and widening blood vessels so blood can flow more easily to the heart.
