Kaletra (Lopinavir/Ritonavir) is an antiretroviral medication used to treat human immunodeficiency virus-1 (HIV-1) infection in adults and children over the age of 14 years old. Kaletra is combined with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. Lopinavir and Ritonavir belong to a class of medication known as protease inhibitors. This medication works by affecting an enzyme called protease, which is used by HIV-infected cells to make new viruses. This medication decreases the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better, which lowers your chances of HIV complications and improves your quality of life. Kaletra is not a cure for HIV or AIDS.

Canadian Pharmacy King currently offers the brand Kaletra from Canada by Abbvie and the generic Lopinavir/Ritonavir tablets from India also called Lopimune by Cipla Ltd. Kaletra and the generic Lopinavir/Ritonavir tablet is available in the strength of 200 mg/50 mg tablets only.
The common side effects of Kaletra may include diarrhea, gas, headache, nausea, trouble sleeping, upset stomach and vomiting.
Talk to your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Fainting;
• Severe dizziness;
• Shortness of breath;
• Slow, fast or irregular heartbeat;
• Symptoms of a heart attack
