Olmetec Plus Information

Olmetec Plus (Olmesartan/Hydrochlorothiazide) is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Hypertension is a common condition that occurs when the force of the blood pushing against your artery walls is consistently too high. Therefore, your heart has to work harder to pump blood. Angiotensin II-receptor antagonists like Olmesartan relax the blood vessels to lower blood pressure. Thiazide diuretics like Hydrochlorothiazide help your kidneys produce more urine to make your body get rid of extra fluid and lower blood pressure. Treating elevated blood pressure prevents stroke, blindness, kidney failure and sudden cardiac death.
