Vesicare (Solifenacin) Medication Information
Uses
Your doctor may prescribe Vesicare to treat symptoms of overactive bladder. People with overactive bladder may have urine leakage, urgency, and may urinate frequently.
Vesicare works on bladder muscle cells by attaching to muscarinic receptors. Muscarinic receptors are involved in the contraction of the bladder muscles. Vesicare blocks these receptors, causing bladder muscles to relax, relieving the symptoms of urinary incontinence.

The starting dosage of Vesicare is 5 mg by mouth once daily. The dose can be increased to 10 mg by mouth once daily.
