CanadaPharmacyOnline.com currently offers generic Hydralazine from Canada and the United Kingdom by different manufacturers. Unfortunately, the brand Apresoline is not available at the moment. Our customers may also purchase other Blood Pressure Medications such as Aldomet and Corgard at low prices. For more information and further assistance, please call Customer Service at 1866.920.3784.

Dosage

The generic Hydralazine is available in the strength of 10 mg, 25 mg, and 50 mg tablets. The brand Apresoline is not available at this time.

Usage

Apresoline (Hydralazine) is a prescription medicine used to control blood pressure in people diagnosed with hypertension (high blood pressure), hypertensive crisis, high blood pressure in pregnancy, and congestive cardiac failure. The active ingredient in Apresoline is Hydralazine. Hydralazine belongs to the class of medication called vasodilators. It dilates the blood vessels and reduces the pressure against which the heart pumps blood, subsequently decreasing blood pressure. Controlling your blood pressure within the acceptable range helps to prevent sudden cardiac death, stroke, and kidney failure.

Side Effects and Precautions

The common side effects of Apresoline are nausea, vomiting, chest pain, palpitation, nasal congestion, hypotension, and headache.

Stop using Apresoline and contact your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Fast or pounding heartbeats;
• Feeling dizzy;
• Little or no urination;
• Numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands or feet;
• Painful or difficult urination;
• Severe chest pain or pressure, pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder;
• Severe headache;
• Severe joint and bone pain;
• Sudden loss of consciousness

Warnings and Interactions

Before taking this medication, you should tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to Hydralazine or are currently using antihypertensive medication such as carvedilol, amlodipine, etc. Hydralazine comes as a tablet and should be taken with a cup of water. It would be best if you used the Hydrazine tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Do not use more than your prescribed dosage to prevent sudden blood pressure drops. Hydralazine controls high blood pressure but does not cure it. Continue to take Hydralazine even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Hydralazine without talking to your doctor. You should check your blood pressure regularly to ascertain if Hydralazine controls your blood pressure. Inform your doctor if there are no changes in your blood pressure for alternative antihypertensive medication.

Before you start using Apresoline, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
• Angina;
• Heart diseases;
• Kidney disease;
• Liver disease;
• Low blood pressure or you are using antihypertensive medicines;
• Stroke;
• Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)

Tell your doctor about all the medications you use, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, herbal products, and vitamin supplements. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to get pregnant when using Hydralazine in treating hypertension. Its effect on the growing fetus is unknown. Discussing the risk of using Hydralazine during pregnancy with your doctor would be best. Hydralazine passes into breast milk. Therefore, it would be best to use Hydralazine cautiously or consult your doctor before breastfeeding your child. Hydralazine should not be used by children below the age of 19 years. There may be a drug interaction between Apresoline and other drugs such as levodopa, acebutolol, tranylcypromine, diclofenac, acemetacin, Treprostinil, aspirin, and esmolol.
