Biltricide is used to treat infections caused by certain parasites. The active ingredient, praziquantel, paralyzes the parasites so they can be flushed naturally from the blood. It also prevents newly hatched insect larvae from growing or multiplying in your body. This product is typically used to treat infections caused by Schistosoma worms and river flukes. These infections can arise from drinking contaminated water or fish while in Africa, South America, Middle Eastern countries, the Caribbean, and parts of Asia.

We currently carry only the brand name medication, Biltricide, manufactured by Bayer, in the 600mg dosage. It comes in a quantity of 6, 8, 12, or 16 and will ship from either our Canadian or Australian dispensary pharmacy.

Contact your doctor right away if you experience any of the following serious side effects:
• Any sign of an allergic reaction;
o Hives
o Vomiting
o Severe stomach pain
o Dizziness
o Difficulty breathing
o Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
Less serious side effects to watch for include:
• Tiredness
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Upset stomach
• Mild fever
• Mild skin rash
Customer Precautions
Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this medication, as the combination can have potentially dangerous side effects. You should not take Biltricide if you have taken rifampin in the last four weeks. This medication should not be crushed and should always be taken with a meal and full glass of water. It is possible for Biltricide to impair your thinking and reactions. Avoid driving or doing anything that requires you to stay alert until you know how it affects you. Talk with your doctor if you have kidney disease, heart disease, liver disease, a history of seizures, or epilepsy before taking this medication. Do not give Biltricide to children younger than four.
