Ferodan (Ferrous Sulfate) is used to treat low blood levels of iron (anemia) or as an iron supplement. Ferodan contains Ferrous Sulfate which is a form of iron. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as iron supplements. It works by increasing the levels of iron and hemoglobin in your body, which is critical for delivering oxygen from the lungs to other tissues in the body. Iron is usually found in foods we eat and is necessary for the normal development of red blood cells. You should only take iron on advice from your doctor or pharmacist.

We currently offer the brand Ferodan syrup and infant drops from Canada by Odan. The generic version is not available.
Seek emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction to this medication. The common side effects of Ferodan may include constipation, dark colored stools, diarrhea, nausea, stomach irritation, temporary discoloration of teeth, and vomiting.
Contact your doctor immediately if you have any of the serious side effects such as:
• Blood in the stool;
• Stomach pain or cramps

Before taking Ferodan, tell your doctor if you have any allergies to any other medications, foods, preservatives or dyes. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take including prescription, nonprescription, herbal products, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Ferodan and other medications. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
