Warnings and Interactions

You should not use Imuran if you are allergic to Azathioprine or to Mercaptopurine or if you have any other allergies. Imuran can cause a rare type of lymphoma (cancer) of the bone marrow, liver, or spleen. This medication should not be used to treat rheumatoid arthritis if you are pregnant. It may harm an unborn baby. This medication passes into breast milk and may have undesirable effects of a nursing infant. You should not breast-feed while using this medication.
